Book1 Module2 Unit5 My family Period 1
Good afternoon,everyone!
My name is Sun Xuemei. I work in Xinbo Primary School.It’s really my great pleasure to be standing here and presentating my lesson,which is an ordinary lesson from my daily teaching.It never won any prize or called to be a good lesson,but have some disadvantages.So I’m being under a great pressure to talk about it.But I told myself: Let the pressure be my pleasure!That’s why I can stand here now.
This lesson is from Oxford English Book1 Module2 Unit5. It includes two parts:Look and learn,ask and answer.
The contents of my teaching report is on the screen.Next,I will talk more about them.
First,let’s go through the lines of the New Lesson Standard.I take this as a mirror.Before and after giving the lesson,I should check by this big mirror to make sure that my lesson is close to it.
Part 1.To analyze the book and students
1. There are 3 units in Module2,the three topics are all about people around us.It’s more easier for Ss to feel and learn familiar things.It’s also good for our teaching.
2. In unit4 we were learnt how to introduce the friends by the sentence petterns: This is… He/She is….This is relate to our new sentences in unit5: He’s my father/brother.She’s my mother /sister.
3. In this lesson, there is a new sentence structure for ask and answer.Who is he/she?
4. Ss in Grade 3 can speak a little English, but they are interested in English.They can guess the meaning of the words by the pictures or the body languages.
To analyze the lesson:
1.Aims:
a) aims on the knowledge and abilities: the Ss can listen,read and speak the new words;to introduce one’s family members;to communicate with others by ask&answer.
b) aims on the process and strategy:to create a real situation by the aids;to learn the new knowledge from the old.
c) aims on the emotion:to develop Ss’ interest in English; to show their love to the family; communication and proper competiton
2.Teaching points:the key points and the difficult points.
Well, how to achieve the teaching objectives better, how to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods.I’ll talk about my teaching methods below.
Part 2.To analyze the teaching and learning Methods
Task-based language teaching,building the blocks approach. “scene — activity” teaching method
Co-operation, proper competition and showing
(Let Ss study in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Ss understand the new knowledge in certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing, saying, observing, imagining , thinking etc. And make preparation for completing the new study task.
After feeling and comprehending the language points, let Ss obtain the knowledge actively by probe study and cooperative study. )
Part 3.To analyze the teaching steps& the purpose of designing
In order to realize the teaching process systematically, properly and efficiently, under the principle of “regard Ss as the corpus, the teacher inspires for predominance”, I divide the teaching process into four steps.
Pre-task preparations
Greeting and introduce the friend.
(It can make Ss feel pleased and safe, and can arouse exciting motion. In this step , we reviewed the sentence patterns “This is…,He’s/She’s my friend.She’s thin.” And arouse the Ss' performance desire, participation desire,and lead the Ss into a relaxed English studying atmosphere.)
Reading the picture book.Whose mouse are you?(act)
(Ss like stories.By reading the story of the mouse,Ss can get the meaning of the family.Then they can start the topic and learn with love.)(ppt)
While-task procedures
I’ll mainly talk about the GUESSING GAME and THE FINGER PUPPET ACTIVITY.
Guessing game for leading the sentences to ask and answer.
(It considers that children can keep their attentions in limited time. The game can avoid the lifelessness and boredom from the pure machine drills .It creates the conditions of a relaxed and natural atmosphere for children’s drills. Then achieve the aim of consolidating and deepening the sentence pattern.)
THE FINGER PUPPET ACTIVITY.
(Speaking & comunication need a situation, it is easy to create a situation by the finger of their hands. Then achieve the aim of consolidating and deepening the sentence patterns.)
Present the words by these activities.(ppt)
Post-task activities
Take turns to flip over a card, and introduce the family member by sentences.
Before the class,I devided the Ss into 9 groups of six children.To finish the activity.
Summarize the whole lesson,and arrange the homework.
Ending By reading the poem of family and watching the picture with music.
(This step also leads to the emotion objective of this lesson, that is to have moral education in this step.)
Blackboard design. It always be quiet. But this is my powerful assistant.
Part 4.The Evaluation and Teaching Reflection
My boys and girls are exposed to English for the first time,so encougragement is very important for them. It can develop their keen interest in English,lead them to keep on learning English.
