Having a Good Pronunciation
Why do language learners need
to practice pronunciation? Actually if language learners in the beginning can
learn the pronunciation well, then they will understand others properly in the
future. They learn a language for real use rather than for decoration, so they
need to try to learn it so perfectly that others may think they are really good
language learners.
This is the good example
for memorizing the vocabulary by pronunciation: Banana, this word can be spelt
vocabulary into three parts: Ba, na, na, combining them together would be
banana. And language learners can also use it in the word of insect, animal and
etc.
Knowing how related words
are spelled can also help language learners with their proper pronunciation.
For example, the final n in the word solemn (meaning “dignified, serious”) is
not articulated, and the word is pronounced SAHL-em. If you’ve only heard the
word spoken out loud, you might think it’s spelled solemn. However, if a
language learner learns the word solemnize (meaning “to make official”) and its
correct pronunciation of SAHL-em-naiz, he will see that there is indeed an n in
the word, and that will help him remember to put it at the end of solemn as
well when he is using that word in writing.
