Design thoughts
I want Ss to review the
words that we’ve learned before using my QQ farm, then I will have Ss recall
the usage of “is” and “are” by designing some tasks. And I ’d like Ss to
practice the key dialogs in different ways, which comes from real life that
interests Ss. Thus Ss can be full use of the key sentences that they can use
them in daily life.
Teaching aims:

Knowledge aim: Ask and answer about prices of items using How
much is/are the …? It’s/They’re…yuan a kilo.

Ability aim: Cooperate with partners to finish some tasks.

Mental aim: Be willing to help others and learn to assume a

Greetings
T: Yesterday, I played a
computer game...
(2)
Show the pictures of my QQ farm, have Ss say the fruits and
vegetables in the pictures.
(3)
Divide the items into two parts. Have Ss say “There is a…”
and “There are some…” And let Ss count the number.
T: The cucumbers are from my
farm. They’re yummy. Do you want to taste them?(give Ss the cucumbers to eat
and let them say a cucumber, two cucumbers ,three cucumbers)
2. Presentation and Practice
(1)Have Ss see the screen,
there are the prices of many kinds of items.
T: There is so much food on the QQ farm and I want to have
some money. So I’ll sell them.
Look at the price. If you
have one yuan, what can you buy? You can tick,

price. Have Ss see the pictures for several seconds, and ask how much is/are
the___? Then check the answer.
3. Consolidation
T: Now I know our
students are very clever and I also want to know if you are kindhearted. Could
you help the sheep family? Who is he/she? … They’re in trouble. They must guess
the price of the presents and then they can get them.
Xiyangyang gets a cake. How
much is the cake? (Do action to hint higher or lower about the price.)
Lanyangyang gets some candy.
How much is the candy?
Meiyangyang gets two
dresses. How much are the dresses?
Feiyangyang gets 3 toy cars.
How much are the toy cars?
T: Oh, you help the sheep
family. They all get their presents. You’re clever and kindhearted. So I’ll
give you a reward. Let’s listen to a song.
Play the song “two yuan a
kilo” from page 88 and introduce students to sing while clapping hands.
4. Production
T: Now, let’s see how are the sheep family. Meiyangyang,
hello. How are you?(Elicit students to greet with Meiyangyang.)
A)
Pair work. T: Meiyangyang is a shop seller. She has lots of
oranges. I like oranges very much, so I want to buy some.
T: Meiyangyang, how much are the oranges?
M: They’re 2 yuan a kilo.
T: Can I have ten kilos,
please? Here’s twenty yuan. Here you are.
M: Thank you.
T: You’re welcome.
B) Xiyangyang also wants to
buy some vegetables. Let’s listen to them.

Say the dialogs by girls and boys.
C) Lanyangyang wants to buy some food, look at the pictures,
say what they talk about. (Do the practice D)
5. Wrap-up
Show “my grocery” in front of the class, mark
the price before each item. Have each group leader be the seller, other Ss buy
things from the “seller”, using the dialogs in the screen. Then write the
receipt.
6. Give Ss some choice about using money. Try to have Ss form
a good habit of using money.
7. Homework
Make a dialog with
your partner using what we’ve learned this class, and show the receipt to the
class next time.
