如何上好初中英语阅读课?

通过此次远程培训视频的学习,使我感受到“有效教学模式”对学生的学习启到至关重要的作用,我想借此机会来浅谈怎样才能上好初中英语阅读课的一点认识,和大家一起分享培训给我带来的收获和快乐。
在《中学英语新课程标准》指导下,激发学生的阅读兴趣,精心设计课堂提问,潜移默化,教会学生阅读的技巧与方法,从而培养学生们的良好阅读习惯,增加他们的阅读自信心。
我们知道,阅读课在初中英语课堂教学中,其本身就是教学重点,也是难点。培养学生的英语阅读能力无疑是我们教学中的重点,所以专家老师在视频中充分地强调了:新课改的重点应是:从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认识水平出发,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务新的教学途径,发展学生们的综合语言运用能力,使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、主动思维和大胆实践,提高文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。
通过课本学习语言知识,了解中西方的语言文化差异,掌握一定的语言技能。语言技能是构成语言交际能力的重要组成部分,包括听、说、读、写方面的技能以及综合运用的能力。获得更多的信息,拓宽视野,逐步培养学生的学习英语兴趣,培养运用知识能力和创造力。要求学生对英语学习表现出积极性和初步的自信心。能听懂有关熟悉的话题的语段和简短的故事。同时也能就有关的话题进行交换信息,参与简单的角色扮演活动等。要求学生在一定时间内完成一定的阅读任务,掌握一定的阅读技巧,提高阅读能力。学生通过英语学习和实践活动,逐步掌握英语知识作技能,提高语言实际运用能力的过程,又可能以磨砺他们的意志,陶冶情操,开发思维能力、提高人文素养的过程。
精心设计课堂提问,营造高效的课堂氛围。众所周知课堂提问是一种最直接的师生双边活动,英语阅读教学中每一教学步骤应设置合理的信息沟,层层递进,可以根据一定的语言材料,设计适量灵活性较大的思考题,或让学生从同一来源的材料或信息中探求不同答案,培养学生积极求异的思维能力。设计此类考题,让学生进行讨论、争论、辩论,既调动了学生积极运用语言材料组织背后的语言内容,又训练了他们从同一信息中探求不同答案的求异思维能力。
如:九年级Unit1 Self-Check中的reading material——How do we deal with our problems?为例:在阅读之前,教师可以设计这样的问题:
1. How many ways can you think of to deal with our problems?
2. What will happen if we don’t solve problems?
当学生对这类讨论性问题产生兴趣时,他们会积极主动地去思考,教师应不失时机地给学生创造学习英语的氛围,加强语言信息的刺激,营造一种激发学生积极思考的课堂教学氛围。
平时我们要有意识地教会学生阅读英语的技巧和方法,如:扫读skimming,即通过对文章标题和首尾句的阅读,对文章的内容结构有一个整体的印象,让学生在短时间内了解作者的意图或文章所要涉及的问题。其二,跳读scanning,为了获得特定的信息而进行的符号辨认的过程,让学生很快能抓住中心句,并能对生词作猜测,以提高学生自学新单词的能力。其三,细读close-reading,指学生在对全文有个整体印象的前提下所进行的深入细致的阅读,要求了解各段落的主要意思和文章的细节,并在此基础上提出新的问题或观点,发展学生的思维能力。
英语阅读的最大障碍,首先是词汇,而完全没有生词的阅读是不现实的,也不是挑战性的阅读。所以,我们要告诉同学们遇到一篇三百字左右的英文时出现几个生词是正常的。这就要求我们要学会根据上下文、词根或语境等来进行猜测词义。
养成整体阅读的习惯,整体阅读是一种科学的阅读方法。它首先要求把所读的句子尽可能分成意义较完整的组群,目光要尽可能少地停顿,要从整体把握句子的含义。如:It’s clear that the less we sleep,the worse we perform in everyday life.我们可以把句子分成三部分来理解:It’s clear that/ the less we sleep,the worse we perform/ in everyday life.而不是一个单词、一个单词地停顿阅读。
要有树立培养学生用英语思维能力。阅读是一种心读,养成学生们通过目光在英语与大脑之间建立直接的联系,即英语思维。这是一个简捷快速的过程,阅读时要把母语抛在脑后,指导学生逐步确立英语思维的习惯,而非母语英语之间的翻译转换。在经过一段时间的阅读训练之后,要在阅读课上注意培养学生们的这种语感。
下面是七年级上第七单元第四课时的教学设计:

Step 1 Warm-up
1. Greetings.
T:Good morning,class.
Ss:Good morning,Miss Liu.
T:Nice to meet you again.
Ss:Nice to meet you,too.
2. Revision.
(1) Check the homework.
(2) Ask students to do free talk to ask and answer the prices of clothes that they are wearing today.
(3) Invite some students to count numbers from one to thirty-one.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Teach the new words.
Put some real school things in the classroom as a store.
T:This is my store.In this store,there are many beautiful things on sale. You can buy your favorite school things from here. And the prices are very low.
Write some new words buy,from,price,store,sell on the blackboard. Ask students to read the new words and try to explain their meanings.
2. Activity 2b.
T:Now open your books. Read the ad. In 2b silently and tell me what things you can buy at Mr. Cool’s Clothes Store.
Leave students two minutes to read the passage. Then invite a student to answer the question.
T:What can you buy at Mr. Cool’s Clothes Store?
S:I can buy how much are these things? Are they at a good price?
Ss:Yes,they are.
T:Please tell me the prices of these things in the store. How much is the sweater?
S1:The red and green sweater are 15dollars. The yellow and white sweaters are 12dollars.
T:Great. Now let’s fill in the following chart about the prices of these things. Do it individually. Later,I’ll check your answers.

过来我们的卖场买衣服吧!
①at在这里是介词,后接表示地点的名词。如:
He often has lunch at school.
他经常在学校吃午饭。
Sale作名词用,意思是“出售”。如:
The socks are on sale.
这些袜子正在出售。
②辨析:buy,sell和sale
Buy与sell是一对反义词,前者是指“买”,后者指“卖”。如:
I buy a pair of shoes for thirty dollars.
我花30美元买了一双鞋。
That shop sells stamps and envelopes.
那家商店出售邮票和信封。
Sale是sell的名词形式,意为“出售,销售”。如:
The sale of his old house makes him sad.
卖掉他的老房子使他很难过。
另外,广告中的for sale意思是“待售”。
③clothes泛指各种衣服。Clothing也指“衣服”,但二者有区别。Clothes指“上衣,下装,内衣,外衣”等,无单数,只有复数,但不能被数词修饰。如不能说成I want to buy two colthes.
Clothing是衣服的总称,是个集体名词,无复数形式,除衣服之外,还包括鞋帽。如:
We need food and clothing.
我们需要食物和衣物。
(2)We sell all our clothes at very good prices.
我们所有的衣服都价格公道。
这里介词at的意思是“以......的价格”,good为形容词,修饰名词price。At very good prices意思是“价格公道”。
(3)For girls,we have skirts in red and purple for only $20.对于女孩子来说,我们有红色和紫色的裙子,只售20美元。
For是价词,意思是“对于......来说”,其后跟名词。如:
For children,watching TV too much is bad.
对于孩子们来说,看太多的电视不好。
In也是介词,意思是“在......范围之内”。如:
The shop has socks in white and black for only 4 yuan each.
商店里有白色和黑色的袜子,每双只卖4元。
3. Activity2c.
T:First,read through the instruction of2cso that you can know how to do this activity.
Complete the conversation individually according to the information of the passage in 2b.
Later,I’ll check your answers.
Leave students three minutes to do it.
As the work,move around the room,checking the progress and offering help as needed.
Finally,check the answers.

Ask students to read the complete conversation together.
Then put students into groups of three to role-play the conversation.

Ask students to look at the picture in3acarefully and understand how to do this activity.
Then fill in the blanks in the ad.
Leave students three minutes to do it.
Offer help as needed as they work.
Finally,collect the answers.
3. Activity 3b.
T:As we’ve just read the ad in 2b and know how to write an ad.
Now,let’s write our own ads.
Leave students enough time to do it. Offer help as needed.
Sample ad:
Come and buy your clothes at Miss White’s Clothes Store! Do you like sweaters?
We have sweaters in red,green and white at a very good price—only $35! We have bags for sports for $20. For girls,you can buy socks for $3.For boys,we have shorts for $15. You can buy hats here,too.
Come to our store now!
Step 4 Consolidation
Self check.
1. T:Now,let’s have a free talk to talk about what clothes you parents are wearing today.
Work in pairs,and talk freely.
Fill in the blanks.
The answers may vary.
2. First,ask students to read through the sentences silently so that they can know the meaning of them.
Leave them several minutes to put the sentences in order to make a conversation.
As they work,move around the room,offering help as needed.
Finally,check the answers.

In this period,we’ve read a passage of an ad and known how to write an ad and talk about the prices of clothing.And we’ve also learned some language points.

教学反思:
这节约课主要是对学生阅读的能力进行培养,通过学习“How much”引导的问句及其答语,让学生学会谈论物品的颜色和价格,掌握表达对服装的喜好的用语及购物时使用的礼貌用语,采用repeating和cooperation学习策略,利用教学图片和制作多媒体课件来展开课堂pairwork问答式的口语交际活动。在阅读文本中,除了课本本身所带的任务外,我还设计了让学生填价格表的活动,让学生在自读、自悟的基础上完成基本任务。当学生在材料理解上遇到疑难时,我做了鲜明的讲解,从而为学生解难释疑,帮助学生们正确理解,从而使他们领悟了材料的内容。然后,进行一系列的练习,使他们对本单元所学的语法项目进行巩固操练。课堂上,同学们的自主性得到了充分发挥,学习积极性也被很好地调动了起来,学生都能做到踊跃发言、和同桌友好合作完成活动,很顺利了完成了本节课的课堂教学任务。所以,通过本次“有效教学模式”专题的学习,对我平时的教学启到了很大的促进作用,我将在今后的课堂教学中不断努力,为培养现代化的有用人材而努力奋斗!
